I know that the AA truck bellhousing can be reworked to adapt a modern trans. Can the 33-34 BB truck bell also be machined to accept a newer 4 or 5 speed?

The only work I did to my AA bellhousing was to drill and tap new holes for the fully synchronized 3 speed with overdrive out of a 84-87 F150
I did add grease fittings for the cross shaft, and new bushings, doubled

Does anyone know if the BB bellhousing is usable?

What 's your engine ? A or B . If you have a A engine, fit a BB bellhousing is doable but as AA bellhousing are not rare, may be it's doesn't worth the headache ...
On the transmission side they are pretty much the same

  5. the only real difference that matters is tha the AA has a pocket on the bottom for the wishbone and the BB doesnt.

Thanks for the replys. I just removed the trans from my 34 truck and didn't know if the bell was worth keeping or if it was useless. I'll pull it off and save it before I scrap the trans.
