Great save, looks like it´s really coming together.

I hope the signwriter got a slap for painting a leopard on the back of a car called "The Cheetah"!

 

that's hilarious! I didnt realize that...He chose it from national geographic or some nature magazine. Im going back with the same pic though. My mom, who is an artist is going to recreate it, but I best not smack her!!!lol

 

Awesome progress Mike, psyched to see it coming together. I almost called about the Cheetah when it was on craigslist. Thank god you ended up with it!

Yesterday's progress: engine together, polished and installed on frame. Today it's build tranny mount and driveshaft, then sticking body back on. Tomorrow, steel-in-motion!!!
Oh, and I gotta do headers too...

like those air scoops, seems to be very thick castings on those.

 

They are thick. eBay purchase a few years ago.

Got body on today, engine plumbed n wired. Tranny crossmember built, shifter fitted. Tomorrow it's front clip, radiator, steering box, pull the trigger!!!

Well, got it all together n tested intime for s-in-m, but Had catastrophic failure. U joint failed, shook engine so hard it got into the radiator and rattled the Bendix cover off the starter and tossed a shift rod pin! At least the car is running for the summer season

back from the sea, ready to fix a few things and drive her this summer before I start on the body. Mr Ritter, who built and raced the cheetah in the 60's ic coming to the Iron Lords shop Wednesday to meet people and maybe talk a little. will be cool, he is a great story teller!!!

 

Mr Ritter came by the Iron Lords club shop Wednesday and saw his car run with proper ford power for the first time in 43 years. Excellent visit! Heard more racing stories from the 60's. got another picture of the car, this time with the wheels up! I'm post it tonight.

Going to be at Steel-in-Motion At Union Co. drag strip in May. Still trying to find a donor body for some sheetmetal (lots). Body will be coming off early fall to restore. It's so full of fiberglas and bondo it's like paper mache'!!! Have to enjoy it during the summer though.

Had an incredible weekend at Steel-in-Motion this last weekend. Ran the car once and learned a ton about what I need to change. Was fun as hell anyway. Got smoked by Bloodyknuckles' Boobie Trap! I now have a clean parts car, nearly rust free, and soon I will be hitting the bodywork hard.

 

Thank god you had a few "issues" or this motherfucker would have been smoked!!!!

What a blast though!
