Novadude55, Thank you very much!! Been looking for pic's of this car as you hear so much about it but no one showes a picture of it or with the other cars.??? now I can add it to my others. I read the write up about Chuck and it brought back memories of the days! It also brought a tear to my eyes about the Gasser wars dieing out. BOY DO I MISS THEM, THE CARS AND THE DRIVERS.

I really like this car. Sort of reminds me of those Kellison dragster kits that were advertised in the back of HRM.

If ever there was a car that said "competition coupe," this was it...Creepers Car Club from Santa ran it, sponsored by Mailliard Automotive, and driven by Walt Sandoval. I first saw it run at Santa Ana in '57 right before the NHRA nationals in OK City, where these photos were taken...powered by a small Dodge, 6-97's, it was not that fast (around 109mph), but fast enought to win its class trophy...photos from R&C site:

Frankie Martinez blows the crank out the bottom in the lights at Fremont, circa 1969. He emerged unhurt but the motor was terminal. The Martinez family were regulars at Fremont, and even ran Pomona a couple of times.

This isn't in motion, but it was.
Bill McKesson's fiberglass Dodge Charger ran an unexpected 160 mph plus in 8.95 on a test run on a cold cold day at Motor City Dragway, with a mere 35% nitromethane, with plans to run 90%.
    Yea, half throttle too.
Working the bugs out Bill and his one man crew planed to campaign in the 67 season.
