  15. IMG_1497.jpg Did a bit of clean up on it last night. Very little rust in the usual places and some small dents but the floors look almost new. The frame will need a bunch of changes but that is pure fun. The great thing about being young is that ignorance is bliss, if you know what I mean.... :) Now I have to go on a treasure hunt to find the missing pieces and that can be just as much fun as the rest of it....

I got my 47 Mercury in 1967 and everywhere I went people told me that they used to have one and **they wished they had kept it***
I had it for 46 years now

boy, that story put me in a good mood! drinks all around! even if you don't ever get around to finishing it, it's got to feel great just having it your garage again! like an old pal you found out wasn't dead after all!

  26. Ooooooh Man! That is an incredible story, and like many have said, probably the coolest thing I have read on the HAMB.

To have had a '32 coupe as your first car at 15 years old is a helluva' cool thing on it's own, but to get another crack at it 56 years later is truly unimaginable.
I don't care how much chasing or otherwise you did to make this happen, you are one lucky guy!:D

    Congratulations!

    Bear:)

Thank you so much for posting your incredible story, great looking coupe.
Having just finished reading "Lost Hotrods 11" by Pat Ganahl, thinking what great stories then you come along and top it with the best story I have read on the Hamb. If Pat ever does another volume then this should take pride of place.
I look forward to seeing the project develop. More pictures please!

  28. That is the best story I've read here on the HAMB.

Just today in the morning I thought about selling my first car (64 Ford, bought it 23 years ago) - after reading your story I realized that this would be a bad idea...

  29. 1st 32 3.jpg IMG_1480.jpg A couple more pictures. The one with the kid  and his newly painted (with a brush) car was taken on my 16th Birthday. The other one was taken on moving day which was the first time in 43 years that it has seen the light of day. It had been in another garage for about seven years before the previous owners moved to this location.
    Ron

p.s. Thanks to all for your very kind comments. They have given my wife and me , a great deal of enjoyment !!!
