Help with wheel idea

    Got these chrome wheels for my Impala.

    Would like to make the centers look more like the Salt Flats Wheel.

    I know! you can' turn steel into magnesium :)
    Any ideas for paint?

    Autozone, o'reily, pepboys, etc all cary duplicolor wheel paints and they have a cast coate grey color in engine enamel as well looks just about like that esp if you fog it on ove that black base!

    paint them argent with the black inserts....add trim rings and centers...then they are ss chevelle wheels.....:eek:

    maybe add a knock off , and leave just the outer edge of the hoop shiny. new cast spraypaint the rest

    Thanks for the help. Will try a gray cast type of paint.

    Put up pics of the results. I'm betting it looks pretty good when finished.

    Get gray plastidip. It self etches so you can spray the whole wheel and peel what you don't want.

    Some progress. Started with a wire wheel on a die grinder.

    Too much work and scratching chrome. went to stripper.

    That works better.

    Need some work with die grinder on lug area, then will try cast blast paint.

  14. Yep, nice! ... who woulda thought? ... it would be nice to see alittle yellow shade to that paint though .. just my opine.

    Not quite HAMB friendly 68 so I put it beside the HAMBable Falcon for contrast.
