Hunnert, and Schied Diesel Extravaganza (kind of OT, but they have had some very cool TJJ style trucks with diesels swapped in). Would like to make it to Lone Star, as that seems the closest thing to Hunnert anymore.

I do about 30-35 events a year. My year after year top 5 in no order are:
    Stray Kat 500
    Stray Kat Starliner
    Lonestar Roundup
    Greaserama
    KKOA Leadsled Spectacular

  9. my favorites:

March Meets - California Hot Rod Reunion (not a "Car Show", more "Drag Race" with cars to look at)

Eagle Field - (again, more Drag race, but fun to watch the cars)

    Viva Las Vegas

    Mooneyes x-mas party

Local show - Rods on the Bluff - 1st Friday of each month starting in April, ending in October

I think I am in a unique position to be able to say I have been to at least 60% of the shows mentioned.....
Jalopy Showdown is the most fun you will ever have at a show.

I should have gone top 7 and included Vintage Torque Fest and Iron Invasion. Since I haven't made the last couple of VTF'a and there has only been 1 spectacular Iron Invasion so far, I left them out but they have both been great shows!

Gotta be the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green. Never a dull moment. COnstant cruising and drag racing so there is never any sitting around watching some old dude polish his car.Anything that involves nostalgia drag racing is off the hook anyway.

Always love the Tyrods old timers reunion in Mass, which is now coupled Orange Airport Drag reunion. This makes for a great weekend. Also enjoy the Gathering of the Faithful held in October, this show is done right and full of period correct hot rods.

Amodel25 got it right ... at least as far as I'm concerned. Roundup in the Spring and Pistons & Paint in the Fall.

But the original question fails to note -- for the most part -- that our favorite shows tend to be the ones within reasonable driving distance of wherever we happen to live, and shows we've actually attended. Thus, the idea of "favorite" is defined by our own experience, which may not translate for folks on the other side of the country -- or the world.

The all Ford car show and swap meet coming up Sunday, August 11th at the Ford World Head Quarters parking lot here in Dearborn, Michigan.... Cost??.. 5 bucks per car load (for parking) if you go as a spectator..

And of coarse.... The Woodward Ave Cruise coming up which starts the week before Saturday, August 17th.... I'll be there from the 15th-18th... Free if you could find a parking spot close by and walk around to check out all the cool rides like I do.... Good luck on that one... I get there around 5:30 A.M. on Saturday so I can find a spot to park my pony for free and whip out my long chair, cooler, camera, some cheap sun glasses and what not...
Plenty of good eats between 13 and 14 mile rd....;)
