Here is a little background on the Wuzs Car. It started life in Portland as the Miller car. In 1955 it was the overall winner of the Portland Roadster Show and then on the cover of HRM in Oct. 1955. The Miller car was raced untill the end of 1959 when it was high point champ of the CTA. In the fall of that year it was sold to the Wuzs family. They put a 341 DeSoto in the car as started racing.This is as the car looked when it was on the cover of HRM in April of 1961. Over time the DeSoto was removed to make way for a 413/426 max wedge. With this setup they were the NHRA record holder with a speed of 130.62 in 1964. Because both men never got rid of anything, the two cars have been rebuilt using about 50% of the original parts not counting the motors...

I've been a fan of the Miller RPU since I bought my copy of the Oct. '55 Hot Rod 9 odd year ago (it was my first 50s HRM & what started my obsession to own a complete collection of 1950s Hot Rod magazines).
Was the Builders name Wuzs or Wusz? Because It would be awesome if there were another builder in the Great NW that was also Hungarian.
Well Ryan, this thread is a pearl grown from yer speck of dirt, thanks to all. Easily equal to the T for body beauty, some nice buckets were seen down under back in the ol' days. The wedge /SR version is sweet, thank you.
You could obsess on a lot of worse things than a red RPU Ryan. NHRA did not require a hood until 1963.
