Yes, they did make that model. I have seen a '28 and a '31 and here is a '30 so I presume they made them all 4 model years.

In the early hours of 14 May 1943 the brightly lit Hospital ship AHS Centaur was attacked and sunk by a torpedo from the Japanese submarine I-177. In sinking the Centaur only 64 of the 332 persons on board survived. Of the 12 Nursing Sisters aboard only one, Sister Ellen Savage survived, although badly wounded herself she rendered Aid to the many injured for 35 hours until help arrived. For her dedication in such adverse conditions Sister Savage was awarded the George Medal for Bravery.

It was not known until after the war which submarine had made the attack. By the time proof that it was the I-177 under the command of Lt Commander Nakagawa was found Commander Nakagawa had already been tried as a war criminal for firing on survivors of the ship British Chivalry which his ship had sunk in the Indian Ocean.

    God bless Sister Ellen.

The French have a saying for the rest: C'est La Guerre. ( told to me by my father from the words of his Parisian girl friend when he was in Paris prior to V-E Day). Having said that it does not excuse acts that are differentiated by moral value.

Here is another photo of Dapper Dan, the Motorcycle Service Man: This motorcycle-mounted service man on his circa 1927 Indian was the good will ambassador for Franciscan Motors. The firm was located at 608-610 West Central Avenue in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is one of two photos we have of him on this machine and also many more of the Dealership on The Old Motor.

Almeda Texas is southwest of Houston, Texas, and back when the photo was taken of this service station, the town only contained about 100 people. The scene looks as though it contains everything that would make for a perfect Norman Rockwell painting showing small town life.

Four large visible pumps dispensing That Good Gulf can be seen and 1920s Dodge Brothers Sedan (with optional wire wheels) under the station canopy, is getting its tank filled by one attendant while another is checking a tire. To the right of the late 1920s sedan seen on the outside ramp, is a man at work dealing with tire service. Be sure to see the two enlargements on The Old Motor with more info on Gulf and Hood Tires.

Of note: The Mustang driver's seat appears to be broken "backwards" which frequently happens in rear end collisions. Even with seat belts, if the seat back fails the driver could be propelled rearward under the belts and into the back glass or rear cabin area at impact. I believe Mercedes was the first mfg to make seats with backs and hinges that could resist the weight of riders moving backwards and breaking the hinge mechanisms in these kinds of collisions. Something to think about when using old seats in newer sedan / moordoor builds, IMHO. Gary

Not to question your answer but I have never seen a 1928 2 door phaeton. For that matter I don't think they made 2 door phaetons until 1931. I think whoever put the later model wheels on the car put a 1930 Radiator shell on the car because they liked the look?

This is a 180-A Deluxe Phaeton
    4,435 Deluxe Phaeton's were made in 1930
    2,875 Deluxe Phaeton's were made in 1931

The one pictured above is a 1930. A lot of people cut down Tudor Sedans and make them into a similar appearing bodystyle which may be why people think they made them in '28 or '29.

The Model A pictured in post #72424 has the proper '30 fender aprons and matching fenders. I can remember seeing a 2 door phaeton in the late 50's in a very old shed
in the south West Seattle area .
