Matter of taste. Not my cup of tea. On a non-blown street car, kinda funny looking.

I have not seen those in the Speedway catalog either. I think they would look nice on your car, Jamoke.

  5. I've used them alot. But be careful, they aren't block huggers by any means. Won't clear most frames. They sit outside on sprint frames. Very wicked sound with mech. injection or blown motors with monster cams. Speedway's had them for at least 15yrs I know of.

Probably one of the worst sounding headers ever. Nothing sounds as good as a nice 4-into-1 header with the right length collector.

  9. 12.5 :1 compression and racing gas to match? Blower maybe ?

Or 8:1 rattle cammed engine - it's like putting stripper shoes on a 500 lb woman and being forced to watching her dance.

Had a pair on the first drag car we built. Was extremely loud in the cab. Had to wear ear plugs just to drive it.

    Neat body; Austin ?

  16. Have to agree, those will sound like crap. A 4 into 1 with a collector will make more power as well.

Yuppers, you have to have the whole nine yards to make them look right. If you engine doesn't flat scream horsepower they end up looking like a wanna be thing. If you can make the ground shake under people's feet go for it.

madmac95, If my eyes are not telling lies, I believe that the body on your car may be a sectioned (length-wise) 35-36 Ford 4-Dr Flat Back Sedan. Possibly it was cut down to run in the Altered Coupe and Sedan Classes. I took the time to look at a lot of these 4-Dr's on the Net before making this post.
Truthfully, it is a good looking car body................. Jeff

Bingo!!!! Best I could tell it was a '36 4 door. It was cut down when I found it. I built the chassis and a friend had a true 301 chevy. Put a 3 speed stick into a ridged mounted 9" with 4.88s. Best was 11.80 at 118mph . And would pull 3 foot wheelies.....

    Heres a build thread.

    And the second part.

I seem to recall that some drag racing rules require that zoomies discharge upwards/rearwards lest anything solid coming out end up lodged in someone's ankle.

I dont know about rules and ankles but we were always concerned about blowing a cylinder and putting oil on the track right in front of the rear tires. It was already a swirly ride at 100mph ......imagine it with oiled up slicks.!

Lol... I dont know about super nice but it made for an interesting car. I traded a turbo 350 for it and drug it out of a hay feild in east tx. Didn't know what to do with it so we went drag raceing.

The catalog should say "for track use only" lol. They will sound nasty and work very well on a light weight car FED or Altered (1,600 lbs or less) with a good cam and gears, or with a blower they will sound wicked. You'll always want better ear plugs. With a stock engine they will sound like the old log truck my uncle used to have and run about the same.
