Under the firewall/filling the void

    Figuring that Baileigh is all about making stuff out of metal, here is my attempt.

    I was looking under the firewall on the cowl where the body bolts to the frame and the connection for the cowl band is on my "A". I will be running a open hood and that area seems to be a eyesore area. (especially those welds, haha)

    Decided to come up with a solution to fill the void where i still have access to the mounting bolts and cowl band connector.

    Started by making a cardboard template: (actually a couple)

    Seems to fit...

    Then make a metal one from the template:

    test fit and grind, fit, grind, fit, grind fit....

    (switching sides now, cause i forgot to take a picture)

    Decided the lip was not large enough so extended it a tad... (Tad... technical term or a wee bit)

    completed result, the black dots are where I will put some screws so a can remove the cover when i need access.
