Hey AndrewnTX, what did you use for an electric fan? I've been looking into them too but haven't decided on a brand yet. Thanks.

 

I went the easy route at the local parts store.

Used a Hayden 3690 from OReilly's, a 14" fan it measures about 15" or so overall, so it covers the core pretty well.

Along with the fan, Hayden's 3647 fan controller and relay kit was installed; you can adjust the fan's kick on temp 160d-210d via a small dial on the unit, the relay, temperature probe and fuse are all part of the kit.

I used a SPAL in mine.

If that engine was set back, it would probably be sitting in the bed.

obviously this one is not for a big block like yours, but shows what can be done on a C6

 

Thanks I Needed That just looking at motor and trans are 65 inch long Im thinking I will just have a short drive shaft and it will fit fine . going to cut floor out to the frame and wing out the bottem half of dog box going to set motor a little back and down a few inchs I think it will be fine that way. Need some HD leaf springs for front this motor is 730 lb geez big chunky monkey for sure. I think small blocks about 550 lb

 

Anyone on this thread have a early (1961 to 1967) steering box. Found that the one on the GTO is worn out. Thanks.

 

I just bought this one but it's got a flipped front axle. Anyone got a dropped axle that they are happy with and RECOMMEND?

Here's mine, a 65 Spring Special. Just put it back on the road after 10 long years. I'm in shake down mode for a while then paint and trim.

 

Lookin good, that interior especially the seats look great!!

 

I'm looking for axle bump stops, these pop into holders on the frame. My front ones are gone and big bumps hit hard. I check Mac's, and parts places, no luck. Anyone got a tip where to find some?

 

Thanks, the seats came from JEG's. They were cheaper than rebuilding my old ones. Speedway has the same seats but shipping was more.

 

I found similar ones at Summit. Unless you're doing a restoration, no one will care if your bump stops are "correct".

 

Got new brakes and fuel pump on yesterday. Gotta flip the front axle back over and then the new kidmobile will be active.

 

If your going to use that radiator the brackets are on wrong .

anybody know where I can get a new fuel tank? Didn't see one at Mac's.

 

In the late 80's I swapped the 170 in my 1964 Falcon Club Wagon for a 200 out of a Fairmont. The 200 had both the early and later bolt patterns on the back of the block, I think it was a 1978 Fairmont. It was a bolt in swap, I used the van's original bellhousing, flywheel, mounts etc. The only noticeable difference was the waterpump length, but the fan still cleared the radiator so I kept the Fairmont pump rather than change to the shorter pump.

 

You can't get an Econoline specific one, but you can get a 15 gal or 20 gal 65-70 Mustang tank brand new for $100 and teh Econo gauge will read the sender. You will have to move the inlet though

 

I swapped in a '69 Mustang tank that I bought off Ebay. IIRC about $125 with sender. 20 gallons. I made my own straps out of galvanized.

As Hellfish mentioned, filler tube needs moved. As far as the vent tube and such, heat it up (AFTER FUMES ARE DEALTH WITH!!!) and melt the solder and pull 'em out.

 

Hi Everyone, I got real lucky and was contacted by the owner and asked if I wanted to buy an all original 1964 E100. The truck has been stored in a garage its entire life. 90,000 miles. I will need a tai gate this has a lift gate on it. The truck was used by a Japanese Gardener and not driven in the rain. it really is clean and rust free. Really rust free

 

I was able to get a gas tank from HAMB'er Skip396. I just got the radiator redone and it was $372!!! Ouch. Got some Fenton Hawks from another HAMB'er and should be on the road by next week.

 

You got ripped off, Scoob! I bought a brand new 6 cyl Mustang radiator for about $100 and all I had to do to make it fit was flip the mounts.

agreed. I think I took in the poopshoot on this one. Admittedly, after not finding new ones available, I just dropped it off and didn't even ask about the price. Got sticker shock when I went to pick it up. Oh well...chalk it up to joy tax. I'm gonna be cruising in short order here.
