Is it possible to find 18- or 19" steel wheels

Hi
I have a friend that wants to build a car with 18 or 19" steel wheels
What size was the Ford Milk truck wheels?
Is there any cars or trucks that used 18-19" in the 30`s 0r 40`s

Any help would be much appreciated

Mobsteel makes 18's and 20's

 

also the correct name was "high ground clearance wheels".

mopars had 18 and 20 inch. 20 is easier to find, but they all are $$$ no matter what ones you find used.

 

I have 8 40s GM centers for the 18'' high clearance wheel " 6 on 5 1/2"

You can get Ford 8N tractor rims (no center, 3" width).

 

I saw some of these while I was taking the tour of the Coker Tire facility. They are pretty nice!

When did you ask them? I was at Coker's last Monday and there was what appeared to be a good supply of centers on some shelves in one of the hallways. Not to get your hopes up too high, but another call might useful to see if any of those could be in the diameters you wanted. Gary

What tires would you run on these?

 

I wish the 20" dodge high clearance wheels were cheaper. I want to run a set of my 48 dodge woodie.

 

A guy I know in this town had a Chevy pickup he bought to sell. It was a '68, 5-on-5wheels, 6" wide: High clearance, 18", all five, including the spare.
Sold the truck with wheels still on it, $1200.

First time I saw a factory equipped truck with those.

 

Please don't show us any pictures if you mount those 20" wheels...gee whiz that's just too tall - there shouldn't be any such thing as a Donk Rod.

 

I ran 18" Astro van spare wheels with Firestone bias plies on the Peter Beatsr. $20 ea.

 

Pix? Are these or similar tall / narrow rims still readily available? I've been looking for 18" stuff, as that's the only size Excelsiors come in with an H speed rating. Gary

Hey guys saw this thread and wanted to reply.

Coker does make steel wheels (and wires) in 17x4 1/2, 18x4 1/2, 19x4 1/2 and 20x4 1/2. They are available in a primed or powder coat finish. They are multi-lug bolt patterns available in 5x4 1/2 & 5x4 3/4 and 5x5 & 5x5 1/2. They take Ford 8 1/4" caps. At this time we do not have trim rings available for the 18" and up sizes. And of course we can also supply the tires that go with them.
