I am new to the forum and I need help with a Model A I acquired that is partially rebuilt. We do not know the make/model of the rear end to open drive shaft conversion kit.

We do not know how to tighten the drive shaft properly to the rear end (see attached). It looks like there is nothing to prevent the u-joint from making contact with the rear end when bolt is fully tightened on the pinion.

Can someone identify this conversion kit? If so, do you have any advice about proper installation? Appreciate all suggestions.

This car has an original Riley OHV and 5-speed T5 transmission waiting for the drive shaft......

    Thanks for your advice.

Use your search engine and query under 'Auto Restorations Muncie, Indiana'
You should find a PDF file link for installation of their T-5 installation kit that has a driveline conversion housing that sure looks like yours.
I tried to copy the link but no luck.
Look at it and see if you think it is the same.

What about some photos of the car and the engine?

Bet you are correct. I see their instructions and wish they had better image of rear u-joint. Maybe someone who has their kit will see my post. Thanks for your response; appreciate your help.

if it is the auto restorations open drive conversion, run screaming...they're pretty sketchy. i used a hot rod works kit, it was really nice but spendy.

That is not a Hot Rod Works piece. Like Nate, I used the Auto resto bits on the transmission, but not on the rear end.
