Well, I got my rearend end in. But with my wheels with 4 in. backspace the rearend is to narrow. Which would be better s10 4x4 or pick up acouple of spacers? thanks Joe

Good quality spacers can cost as much as a whole axle at the self-service yards.

I used a '78 and up Malibu rear on the '33 with 15x7 wheels and 225/75r15 tires, can't remember the width of it...

  4. That doesn't look like 4" backspace rim to me , maybe it's just the pics. That really doesn't matter because you are too narrow but it might matter if you are explaining to someone . A 4" back space would completely swallow up the brake drum and then some.

I think I'd go hunting a different rear end.
if you are completely set on those wheels, set them where you want and measure what you need for wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface.

How big of a spacer are you thinking it will take to fix your problems ?

I'd put the wheels where they look best, and measure the distance between the flange and the wheel, and add that to the existing axle with. Then, hunt for a proper width axle, with the right ratio. If you measure, post it, along with what gear ratio, and wheel bolt pattern you desire, and we should be able to point you toward one.

I will run spacers, but ONLY where there is no other plausible solution.

Is the S-10 blazer wider or just 4x4?

I believe that the S10 Blazer axle is also narrow. The narrow ones are 54-1/4" and the wide ones are 58" wms-wms, if my memory serves me correctly.

There numerous gear ratios for both 4x4, and 4x2. The short answer to your question is yes, and no.

Both have several gear ratio choices available. That is why Jalopy Joker suggested to check the sheet in the glove box door for the axle ratio code and how to check.

I drug home a Free S 10 Blazer and only wanted the rear end and it looked like a bomb had exploded inside it. I'd pull the cover and check things out before buying any of those.
