It was a GRAND time back when. One night, dead of winter dredging up old classic threads. Taking the flaming for doing so. Not to start a war, but to exclaim YES! I get it! More hours of marcus, GERM, and some of the now MIA/BANNED members.....it all became clear! You have to step inside like a profiler to understand. In doing so you too become scared. No regrets, regular society is sooo boring. I guess that fix is what keeps me vigilant.

I remember that Germ post, back when I lurked....what most people do not get is that about 13 or so years ago this traditional thing was kind of underground...and here are these guys making it happen....threads about guys building stuff....the Paso shows, and early billetproof, the hamb chop....the roach rod....Cole Foster and his 36 custom.... the magazines (shop rag…ck deluxe, hop up, etc.) the guys behind that were here and making history....people lurked not because they were afraid of others, but people were doing so damn much that if you were a poser or shit talker you were called on it....people wanted to see your shit, and if you didn't have a car, or were not working on a car you were of no interest....there were no history teachers then. Guys knew what was trad or trad style, and if you did not hit the mark you were told so....there was a lot of tech, and there still is but the people who were calling folks out had CREDIBILITY! That is the big difference now...so many self-anointed experts with no cars telling us all how to do it....again, not saying this place is worse not, it is not!

It was just a different time with different guys/vibe...it was new....it was a place where you wanted to impress others with your stuff, if you didn’t have anything to impress them with you stayed quiet.
It seemed like there was so much going on, and it was.
I will say that the builds going on now, are as good as or better than then, show coverage is awesome now….the HAMB effect on how many vendors there are now for our cars is incredible…just trying to help make sense….delete this if you feel I am off base.

Hell.........I do knowthing but lurk 99.9% of the time here now, because of exactly what Dooley just said!...... I know what I know,,,,,,, but even doubt I contain an ounce or lid of the knowledge that the Knowbody's know or have known .........and so better to be a fng then a newbie for over 3 years and learn some amazing shit here.
Bet this place was a blast back then!!!

And I think this post 3yrs & 3months after I found this place----finally makes me a "grenade inspector"----& I like that.....

Nah, I lucked because I don't like others . I remember the HAMB chops and my memory sucks.

Driving old cars in the early 90's that weren't pastel, that had chrome was odd and everyone asking when I was going to finish it.
