Heres what I came up w/, no sewing needed! The donor visors are from my '51 plymouth. Starting w/ this: Cut the seam and break it down, all I will need is the pivot arm and hard middle pressed board. grab some thin foam (this was left over stuff from my old door panels and about 1/8" thick) and glue it to both sides of the sunvisor board. Sanding the edges smooth will help things look much nicer when done. now glue the the vinyl to the prepped sunvisor boards . When that dries, trim the excess of and leave about a 1/4" "flange" (not done yet in the pic). Last up is the $3.99 trim pc that almost makes it look like its a professional job. I was looking to use white door trim, but Im glad I decided to see what the chrome would look like. Grab a hair drier to warm it up and it will go on really nice. The mounting flanges ended up being aluminum so of course I had to polish them. If you have ever looked into the cost of having your visors redone, you will have to laugh at the idea that I did these for about $10. have fun, Jeff Jeff
Damn. Great idea, and to me, looks better than sewn visors. Wish I had known your tech before I recovered my visors.
Looks good! I think you just inspired how I will do mine! I got two original visors that are just cardboard while digging through some old parts bins. Now I know how I'm gonna cover em! Thanks!
