There has been a lot of speculation as to the death of Mr. Jeffries. As it was just that, speculation, I deleted all of the posts until we could confirm whether or not it was true.

I'm sad to report that it is true. We've lost Mr. Jeffries... An absolute legend in the custom world, but more than that - just a hell of a guy.

    He'll be missed.

So sad. I just drove past his place yesterday and it was all locked up. I feel so blessed to have met him and spend a bit a time in his shop.

    RIP.

A sad day. Dean was indeed a great guy and welcomed us to his shop with open arms. He was a colorful man that had many great stories to tell. Rest in peace, Dean.

A very sad day indeed. My condolences to his family and legions of friends.

While this is sad event for us here on earth I believe he is in hot rod heaven with his loving wife who he lost shortly before our visit to his shop. I can only imagine that he died from a broken heart as he was so in love and missed his wife terribly. RIP Mr Jeffries

Dean really was a genius in a lot of ways... I've often called him the most talented of the late 50's class of custom men.

Not many people, even today, can pull off an a-symmetrical Maserati or a custom Porsche...

  20. Just saw his shop from the freeway as I was passing by and wondered. Sorry to hear about another mentor from our past leaving us. Took these at Ace Wilson's Royal Pontiac when I was a kid.....

  22. Thanks Denise, I'd been controlling my emotions until I read this. I hope he's laying down lines on Ezekiel's Chariot.

Best memory, when he was judging custom paint at a car show and picked my car as best flames. I talked to him later, what a nice guy. RIP

  24. RIP. God sure is assembling himself one hell of a build team.
