This past weekend saw me competing in a hill climb competition for the very first time at the historic Shelsley Walsh track and although I have drag raced my truck for a few years this was something completely different. There is now a national championship over here in the UK for flathead powered vehicles which is designated class Z with events attracting entries which range from British specials with 1172cc up to blown hot rods and even a 36 coupe. Anyway I had a new HD action camera to play with so thought you might like to see the results... some of my fellow competitors. Have to admit I really enjoyed my first time on the hills and the challenge now is to go faster!
Too cool. Almost felt like I was drving. Made my day at 5am. I can now go to work without complaint Thanks for posting
Cool. Here's Some studies from Collingrove. Fun initial crest, ripper RH bowl. Then tight, twisty uphill second leg.
Was the second competitor video that little aluminum modified built by a HAMBer? Nutrocker or something like that???
So cool! Is it a dedicated track, or public just access restricted during events? your post said track, but it looks pretty long.
Great stuff Gav. I'm hoping to have a go at that at our local Collingrove track here downunder in the next few months, the one that Spoggie mentioned.
DAM! That looks like a fun thing to do....Wish we had some hills around here in Nebraska it is some what flat...
Well done Gav, great to see you on the hill. It's a bit addictive though, see you on another hill soon. Pete.
Not compared to the other guys! Clark in the gorgeous 36 coupe is particularly quick and smooth. Indeed. Prescott in a couple of weeks. Another chance to see your motor fly again!
A couple more vids... Some start line action. A ride back down the course. The closest I will get to the rear of a 911 on a race track!
