Hot Rods Got another Tudor and now want to chop it

I had previously cut and rewelded my pitman arm.
I think it was okay but a new one makes me feel a little bit better.

Yesterday the voltage regulator mounted and wired, the fuel pump in and hooked up the wiring harness to the tail light.

Should be ready to fire again very soon.

 

Got it fired today. The brake and tail light is wired in as well. I have a pretty good fuel leak to deal with on the line coming out of the firewall mounted glass bowl majigger.

Getting real close. Really need to work on seats now.

 

I love the louvered, I want some!

Fuel issue is resolved, now just some interior.
But I am just too damn busy at work to work on it......
Prolly should take it home and work on it in the wee hours of darkness.

Did you use the majigger reseal kit, re flair a line or go back to the copper squeaz-a-majig

Actually there must be a difference in how the lines seal between the 30 and 31's.
On the 30 it was sealed with a copper ferrel and it sealed well.

When I pulled that line of and put it on the tudor it leaked badly, replaced it with a new ferrel and same deal. I then got a 12" 1/4" brake line and cut it in half and used the original fitting to tighten the brake line up and it sealed correctly.

I bought one of the $300 plus hydraulic flaring tools but as you know it I didn't have any 1/4 line to use it on so I just bought one with a flared end on it.


On another note, I put some transmission anti slip fixall in my 56 with the powerglide, and it didn't do crap. Works great forward, slips like hell and will hardly engage reverse.

I got some seats from a friend. I had sold him a Tudor awhile back with newly covered seats and we made an agreement that I could get the old ones back, luckily he still had them.



I really hate the lack of function that newer seats have in fitting to a Tudor in regards to rear seat access. I felt the stock seats for the front is the way to go.

The brackets on the front of the seats were not the same, I am not sure if that is correct or not, but I made a plate with matching mounts for each seat fixture. It bolts to the subrails and looks to work out real well.





So that was great progress for the course. I have been really busy and just not had the time for it.

I stayed late lastnight and got the seats mounted and BAM drove it home!

There is a cruise tonight about 25 miles away, I think I will have the wife drive the wagon and I will take the Tudor. I actually set in my coupes seat in the rear so for cruising I can take a couple of the kids.

Got it all washed up as well. First time it has been washed since it was painted 4 months ago. Cleaned up well, I took one of the boys for a ride. Got home and the taillight was out.

I went to pull the lense and it was cracked then completely broke when I dropped it, bad bulb, I will rob one from another light.

This Tudor has the shifter knob on it I got from you a couple years ago as well as the T spring out back, see you contributed more than just kind words!
