I lost my camera at the event. It is a SONY DSC-H90 a small black point and shoot unit.

    It looks like this.

    Please PM me if found.

In spite of the lost camera I had a marvelous time even in the rain Friday. Will definitly be back next year.

bump for ya, Bob. And throwing in Torquefest with no space in the wording so it comes up either way you search it.

  10. Im takin naked pics with it i ll send it back when im done! Good luck on findin it n great to see you as always!

  11. It probably won't help you recover your camera at this point, but I
don't think most people are aware of these features on most digital
    cameras.

All digital photos contain EXIF data as well as the image data in
their files. The EXIF data consists of info about the specific camera
used and its settings for each picture taken. In addition, this EXIF
data can also include the camera owner's name and maybe even a phone
number or email address if there is enough space.

The trick is, you've got to manually enter this information into the
camera. In at least some instances this info can be entered using just
the camera's controls. But in most cases I suspect you'll need to have
the camera connected to a computer by a USB cable. And you may need to
access this feature using some of the software that was supplied with
camera when new. The user's manual should explain the procedure.

The CD that comes with the camera often includes some utilities
specifically for that model of camera, though you may have to dig
around a bit to find these features. If you don't have the CD you can
probably download the software from the manufacturer's website.

With this extra bit of info in place, every photo you take will now
contain your name and maybe a phone number or email address. Of course
anybody finding your lost camera would have to open your pictures with
some software that will also open the EXIF data to find this
information. But if they are interested in at least trying to find the
owner this goes a long way toward getting your camera, and pictures,
    back into your hands.

Then there's a second option to I.D. your digital camera that might
work even better, though it might not be available on all makes and
models. Many cameras, when first turned on, will display a "Splash
Screen" on the LCD. It usually displays the camera maker's name with
an image in the background. At least most of the Canons I've owned do
this. Well in some cases you can customize your camera a bit and load
your own pics into the camera to use as these "Splash Screens".

This means you can take an image of your choice, add text showing your
name, address, phone number, email, website, or whatever you want and
it will show up momentarily on the LCD every time the camera is turned
on. You'll probably need at least some basic photo editing software
though to prep your image and downsize it suitably to load into your
camera. Again, your user's manual should tell you how and if you can even
do this kind of customization to your specific camera.

  20. I don't mean to derail the OP's thread but I thought that this information might help someone else recover their lost camera and/or memory card and pictures. Below is a sample of the EXIF data that's attached to every digital photo you take. I just bought this used camera, downloaded the software from Canon and was able to add at least my name and phone number.

It works with Internet Explorer and Firefox and will let you read EXIF info for any JPEG image you see online, if the EXIF data is still attached to the image.

Years ago a friend and I had a space at a swap meet together. Someone left a very expensive 35mm camera in our space. I told my friend we should turn it in to the swap meet organizers to see if someone would claim it. His reply was HELL NO they lost it and it was now his. I lost a lot of respect for him and never shared a swap space with him again.

This is why you might not want it back, lol.

  24. It won't help you but might be useful to someone in the future. The first shot on every card I have is a sign with "Reward" in large letters with my cell phone number on it. If an honest person finds it, you might get it back.

My mother always used to tell me that I would lose my ass if it wasn't fastened on! That was when I was a kid, things are worse now.

  26. BAM! :D Well now why didn't I think of that? Probably because it's so simple! That way even if you just lost the memory card and not the camera there's a much better chance of getting it returned to you. My DSLR doesn't display a Splash Screen when it's first turned on so I need to add a pic like that to all my memory cards.

To make sure your "reward" message stays on the card make sure when it's in the camera to go thru the menus and find the "Protect" function and protect at least that one image. That way when you erase images that you've already downloaded it will leave that one pic on the card. Though if you FORMAT the card instead of erase it you'll lose all images, even the protected ones.

I'm assuming the OP checked with the property managers of the show grounds to see if anyone turned in a found camera.

I did not see a camera in the lost and found, but I did see two jackets and a pair of glasses. But yes - all the stuff that was left is at the fairgrounds.

  28. Did you check with Mr Bones?
