Nick (Hubcap1) of hubcaps hot rod design and owner Mike (AZ54belairguy) asked me to document the transformation of this turd of a '54 chevy into a tail dragging chopped shiny painted daily driver queen of a custom.

This little beauty was found in Indian Country of Northern Arizona. Home to the Havasupai people which translated means "people of the blue green waters". The people of the Havasupai nation are know for their large head dresses and their love of the white man's whisky!

In steps Mike, Chevrolet mechanic by day, hamb lurking hooligan by night. With 3 other projects looming around he couldn't help but picture a better life for this rusty Bel Air and the miles he could rack up. So after dawning a traditional head dress of the Havasupai and proving himself as a true warrior through tests of will and might. (There might have been some powdered dog balls and whiskey bribery involved) Mike claimed his squaw and brought this nugget home.

He tackled the basics by replacing the front end with a Mustang II kit and a Gambino notch out back. In the essence of ease and availability in went a 5.0 LS1 and its matching automatic from work and out came its crusty predecessor.

In hopes of salvaging any kind of traditional street cred in steps Nick to administer the chop. 4 inches up front and 5 inches out back with slanted B pillars. The rear window will be removed in place of 50 chevy glass and in addition to the chop, the taillights will get the '54 Merc treatment.

With out further ado, I present to you:
