Sold my Willys Pickup Gasser back to the Original owner after 50 yrs.

    t sold my nomad found it 20 years later on e bay
    had hi bid he knew it was mine shut the auction and traded it
    3 years later I was contacted and asked about it
    he wants to restore it as I had it

    Hi Ray. Iam glad you got the Willy truck back. It was meant to be.I still can't remember what work I did on the truck, some thing on the rear? But I remember the truck. Joe LaPorte.

  10. Vince... I'm a strong believer in Karma good things will becoming your way brother. That is a super piece but now you can put more effort in the sedan.
    We might be coming up this fall to greenfield village. I will let you know and stop by.

    A few nights ago I pulled the Hilborn Injection out of the basement for Ray to do some research on the numbers, what we found was the #344 stamped in it, turns out the Injection was shipped to Jack Merkel 4-10-1963 Hilborn was able to send a letter of authenticity to Ray....very cool!!

    That's cool. I always hate selling things because you never know what people are going to do it to. Its always nice to find a good home for stuff. And this truck is going HOME.

    That is just so cool that after all these years the truck goes home again.

    You mentioned two names that were very important to many drag racers from the 60's when you mentioned Jack Merkel Olds and Vitar Hydro.

    Let the memories live on for another era of drag racers to enjoy.

    Thanks again guys! It was the right thing to do. Ray deserves the car, hope he has a blast with it like I did.
    I still have plenty of willys projects to keep me busy for the next 50yrs:D and yes the sedan is almost ready to come come from the shop.
    heres a couple of pics of me my brother and the old Willys the day we loaded it on the trailer bound for San Diego, you should have seen all the people checking the car out on my street!!!

    So Ray sold the truck , since then I can't stop thinking about, I want to find it. Was told it went to Minnesota, any info would be appreciated.
