I wonder why you do that? I try not to polish the glossy base fore the silver, once I have a perfect mirror I put 3 coats of clear and unless I make a huge mistake I just dont polish my pieces.

    What was that mistake?

It is hard to spray so big part, like car hood without orange peel effect on it! There is only way to polish it! For smaller items i do not make polishing

Thanks buddy, I believe I'll be posting my own parts this year(by the endo of it).. I have always been a thrifty guy and thats how I've been able to save money with my limited wage($ 500 a month)....But I'm expecting my first baby(baby boy) in june, its going to be my first child(I'm 31 years old) and we all know how they can take your time and money, so I'll have to be even more thrify than usual for me to pull this off again. wish me luck

Why Only one day? the clear coat is durable enough to last on shoes I am sure of that, now if you did not use a flexible agent or what I use(Krylon fusion) to hold the paint to the flexing object then it will crack and peel...

here check to see how flexible it its...

    Marvin-

Awhile back I saw you did the vent visors and how thin it was - translucent. What was the method of prep used? I'm guessing since they were shiny/black already possibly a plastic adhesion promoter was used, cleared, then the silvering process began?

a common misconception about flex additive---its only good for 12-48 hours and then cures like the rest of the paint [without flex additive]---it is used on flexible parts to put them back on the car and ''bend them'' during installation---hope this info helps---i dont use it anymore as my bumpers are put on next day and are not fully cured.
