Had a great day today. Went to Gene Winfield's class at Vaughns Restoration in Post Falls today. Class has been awesome. Gene is not just talented, but he teaches like a pro. Not to mention what an easy going friendly man he is. We get to learn a little history first hand too! Thanks to Tom and the rest of the crew at Vaughns. They are doing a great job, putting this together.
Gene started at 8:30am, and went till after 6pm. I had to go, no telling how long he hung out after. The mans unbelievable. Hardly took a break. Bordered on information overload! I'm no stranger to metal work, but I picked up all kinds of tricks. Well worth the 300 bucks already, and we still have another day! Plus the man's my hero! Hanging out with Gene, crosses a pretty big one off my list!
Thanks for posting some pictures! We are so glad to have the opportunity to host such a legend, and could not ask for a better group of guys to share the experience with!
Had a great weekend. Today we played with lead and gas welding aluminum. And a dozen other 40%ers! Other than watching Gene weld, the leading was my favorite part. Well, then there was the history, told by the man who was there and made much of it. That was surreal. Fantastic weekend. Thanks again to all involved.
Gene's an AWESOME guy! and so very talented. Glad you got the opportunity to spend the weekend with him. I feel very fortunate as I was just asked to decorate a guest room in a local friends home specifically for Gene's comfort as he stays there when he's in town. The owner has semitrailers full of original artwork and stuff for me to choose from. Should be a fun project.
I hope you can show us when your done Denise! This sounds like the perfect project for you. Or maybe you're perfect for that project! Either way it sounds fun. I picked up a few things to hang in the shop, along with a few more pictures.!
For the shop? What about the house? I'd love to see what you'd done with not only the outside but inside as well.
The house has become a little less hot rod I'm fine with that. I'm just about to the point of making the shop more of my "play" space, so I need the "decor" for out there. And I'm loving the house. Never had a space feel better or more me! Here's the view from my bed. And the "porn" wall Ragene collected pictures for. The porthole is viewed from the bed area, across the stairs. The shower will be on the other side. Once we "heal" from the last round of work!
