Yeah! We're all badass, 1%er, beer guzzlin', FNG stompers here!! That is, assuming our wives let us. : - )
Spotts, google HOUSE Industries, Andy Cruz did the signage poster for the Lonestar last year, he is HOUSE Industries. Good luck on here with all those Bozos.
Very nice old style lettering. Was a time when I was younger and more patient I did mucho hand lettering but now it's all striping cause it's easier and the brush is lighter. Oh and about the intro crap, I've never been formal either and so far have never been forced to be. Many of my customers spend hundred of thousands on their cars and guess what, I hardly ever shake hands or tell them my name. I still get their $$. Since I'm the only boy in my family who has never served time people who know me never get in my face telling me otherwise. Amazing what people do behind a computer screen. Guess that pinstriper attitude rules. Oh well, let's go boys.
Welcome to the neighborHOOD Spotts... I can patina the signs on your ride. Sign painter for 42 years. No problem. Check my work in my profile. I'll be painting at OKC Southwest NSRA nats- April 15-17, if your close.I come through Colorado in late July and back in mid August from working Sturgis. Always stop in Denver to work for friends there. Let me know if I can help.
Flyin colors! I do hope we get to meet up. Even tho I think I could do "OK" on my own, I want a "PRO" lettering job. Thank you all for the welcome and I plan to be around a while!
At times I really get sore at people being so rigid about following this or that policy or expected way of doing things, when in actuality people are just trying to get involved or gain some knowledge about this great hobby. I keep coming back because the good nature of most of the folks on this site prevails. Welcome to you Mr. Spotts, and I too think that old lettering is cool.
OK, I'll ask the obvious question - could the sign painter that did the businiess logo put the same thing on your truck?
He is amazing at graphics, and yes I know he could do this. We are great friends, and he acted like he didnt really want to learn the art of a patina sign for just 1 project. If I have to I'll pressure him into it, but I would rather find an expert. That is what I want my customers to want from me. Does that make sence?
So where are the "rules" you folks are talking about that us rookies need to learn so we don't get our asses chewed off for being here ?????? And I'm right there with you Spotts, so don't feel like the only new guy on the block. Thanks !!!
Hey "grouch", At the top left of the main page you'll see this: New to the H.A.M.B.? Introduce yourself here! then go here: Sticky: Read This First! Ryan At that point you'll find a few paragraphs, rules and guidelines from the boss hisself about our forum. Hope this helps? Read, add and enjoy.
I actually saw that, I was jus so darn excited to ask my first question.... I ignored it. Mt fault completely!
Awesome customer!!... glad I didn't miss out on this one! http://www.pinheadlounge.com/GEET/page/1/view/120051/
