I'm still here. I check every day. Just haven't had any photos that fit the time period lately.

Pretty much used up all my photos that fit the time period on here. I am still posting over on dogfightmag.com. I have a lot of other folks' photos that I might put on here, most are old enough for them not to care I geuss.

We've got a similar thread named the same way on TrackForum.com, in the Nostalgia section. Somebody's also started a thread with older stock car photos in the same place.

Posted this in another thread on here as well but more suited to this one...
A few local guys have been pulling old cars out of fields and barns and reviving them. There are 7 total but I can only find pics of this one. (Note the 55 chev front bumper on the rear)

There's a 55 Chev that is only recognizable as such by the dash. Speaks volumes about the history. If I can get pics I'll post them.

Thanks for some good stuff, Tricknology. I remember a day at Fort Wayne when Danny Byrd and Earl Balmer were battling for position, and something let go. Both of them ended up in the wall in the first turn.

I wonder if Bill Milam was related to late Weyman Milam who promoted Lakewood Speedway in Atlanta and was connected with several tracks and cars through the years. He once showed me a photo of an Indy car he and some others had, it was flathead Ford powered.

Weyman Milam at later in life at (I think) Rome GA.

This must have been the 1:1 model for the AMT model kit. Beautiful!

A Edsel was part of a rather obscure movie shop in Iowa in 1967, "Fever Heat" from a book written by Iowa native, Henry G. Felsen. It was called the "Big Edsel" Nick Adems was the main actor. Our 1955 Mercury was seen in a few feet of movie, not enough to tell except we had the only Merc running at that time. Driver was Wes Smith of Story City.

Pg 272 Bob Kooresen Photobucket. Great pics from the old days around Ft. Wayne. The #88 '57 Chevy is Charlie Flaugh Jr. from Andrews In. The car was built by Charlie, his father, and John Snyder. It was sponsored by Snyder Marathon in La Fontaine, In, where it was housed during the racing season. Later, the car was bought and raced successfully by Ron North of Huntington, In.

Loved the walk down memory lane, Bob! Thank You

Wow! Beautiful. Hard to believe it was just a pile in a field. Nice work.

Also, indybigjohn, and any others who might be interested, Redline 7000 is on Netflix. I know some us wanted to watch it a while back, and it wasn't shown on DirectTV at the time. One of the details I noticed this time around, in the closeups of the Fords firing up, it appears the exhaust had been relocated under the frame, and the original openings covered.
