    :D]ALTERNATE CAPTION[/] - "Alas, poor
Bob! When Bob went down to the local
Chevy store to buy his new '69 Impala,
the salesman had warned him, right
up front, that that the car could turn
out to be - quote - 'a real chick magnet'.
Thinking that that was just a euphemism
and the salesman's way of saying that the
car was "cool" and that it would make
him popular and attractive to the ladies,
Bob bought the car. What Bob completely
failed to understand was that the salesman's
statement was actually a dire warning,
meant to be taken quite literally and
    seriously!!
    ":eek::eek::eek::D
    -------------------
    Mart3406 ("who, 'back in the
day', just like poor Bob, also
    failed to heed the salesman's
    warnings and had to spend
    thousands of dollars, constantly
    having his '69 Impala electrically
    de-gaused and de-chock-magnetized
    too!!

Not an old photo but a photo of some old motor oil cans in my collection. I'm sure some of you oldtimers will remember some of these. How many of these got thrown into the trash can beside the gas pump? I know I threw away quite a few working at a gas station as a kid.

When 7-Up or Dr. Pepper were put in baby bottles, it had been allowed to go flat before it was put in the bottles. My wife was just talking about that the other day. It seemed like when we were older, 7-Up was often given to us when we had stomach upsets.

  13. Favorite subject of mine. When I was a little kid back just after WWII, Triple X rootbeer was the big thing. Definitely no syrupy aftertaste and it had what I call a "sharp edge", almost as if it had alcohol. I try every craft rootbeer that comes along hoping that it might have the same taste and "edge" that XXX had but none are even close.

Yup. I used to be a big root beer fan, but discovered birch beer on a philadephia trip and have been hooked ever since. Real sugar and real birch flavoring. I've been having it mail order shipped ever since, but it's worth it.

Sprite works too, I still use 7 Up or Sprite when I have a stomach bug.
