Who knew what you had in there? I'd look for an insider first.

My dad had this happen at his yard, his container was broken in to and the people knew what was their and what they wanted...it turned out it was the security company who watch over the yard.
People never want to work for what they have any more, makes me sick.

Good luck finding your goods. Does sound odd that those containers were checked on only certain items were taken.

All the best. The HAMB police are pretty vigilant.

Sounds like those items all looked like aluminum to the thieves. I'd bet they are headed to the scrap yard.

Back in the 70s our rental building right off the Gulf Freeway in Houston near the Foley's warehouse my two friends and I had thieves break in and take all the radiators and aluminum from the place in broad daylight. This included radiators for 32-33-34-40 and 51 Ford cars and finned heads of various brands for flatties, mutiple carb intakes, an in-out box from a midget racer, Halibrand Q/C center section and cover plates, fuel blocks, headlamp stands, and other bracketry.
    Never to be seen again.
    Best of luck.

    This was my first thought.
Check local scrap yards, leave a list with them with your contact #. Ask them to go ahead and buy the stuff at scrap prices, you can get your stuff back if you have a police report and the cops will know who the thieves are. Legit scrap yards will photo copy the scrap sellers drivers license.

Do not CALL the scrap yards in your immediate area, go to them right now starting with the closest and fanning out from there. Ask to look at the scrap aluminum piles ASAP and of course explain the situation. We had this happen about 7 or 8 years ago when I was helping out at ElPolacko's shop with radiators in the fenced in, secure back lot. I jumped into the car and hit the first and second scrap yards less than a mile away and found all of them within minutes. A quick call to the cops and the stuff was back at the shop.

I'd be making a list of who knew that the stuff was in that particular container. They may not be the actual thief but may have run off at the mouth about what you had and were overheard by the thief.
