Hey all, it's time to get the exhaust done on my latest acquisition ('62 Impala SS, SBC/4 spd). Currently, running headers and some old glass or steelpack mufflers (roughly 20" or so) and it's WAY TOO QUIET! The exhaust is also dumping out in front of the rear tires. That's how I got her... Time for a little change.

My plan is to run some much shorter glasspacks (12") and to have the exhaust run all the way out the back with some pencil tips at the rear bumper.

Any of you Bay Area HAMBers know of a good muffler shop that "gets it"? (Maybe some old hotrodder guy). Preferably in the East Bay (Oakland/Berkeley/Alameda).

Also, I'm wondering if some stock rams horn exhaust manifolds might sound better then these headers(?)

    Thoughts? Thanks!!
