Hey everyone, I need some advice and instruction on how to remove the dash from my 1950 chevy fleetline. Is it spot welded to the body or bolted somewhere? The reason I am requesting info is I would like to remove the stock dash and replace it with a custom dash (that I am planning to build). I tried using the seach function but did not find much info. I did reference this website as well: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/chevyresto/50index.htm it has great information, but no dash removal information. I have looked under the dash for spot welds and bolts but not able to clearly figure out how to remove it. Any advice would help me out!
on my 53 the dash is also part of the windshield channel, you would have to remove the windshield the drill out the spot welds on the sides of the dash and cut the lower glass channel away from the firewall and cowl area. it maybe different on yours. Godspeed MrC.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Looks like some careful cutting is in my future? BTTT for the evening & over-night crew.
