[IMG][IMG]o.k. finally have a chance to start verno30's frame. here is what i got so far. will do more tomorrow. received a template from vern, took the time to cut it out, transferred it to a piece of sheet metal and cut it out with the plas. i already had the rails cut and the reveal in them before i started, i think i made them a couple weeks ago. then made a couple cut outs in the sheet steel for the rear kick ups to go through. vern located his rear axle location on his template so i just transferred it to the sheet steel.wheel base is 106".
i figured i would just use the template i cut out of steel for locating the frame to the profile he wanted. the 27 body will over hang the rails by 1/4". thats where i had to locate them in order to get the rear of the frame to transition into the trunk area. well here are some pics, keep in mind i am only tacked up and still need to cap top and bottom of the rails. have a ways to go but at least were started. i do however have the 3/8" plate in the bottom of the frame Vern wanted so he can bolt in his belly pan. will put the top one in after i cut the top sheet loose to finish the top of the rails

  15. I often dream about making a 32 or a model A frame with a solid plate welded to the Bottom of the rails.

This way you could channel the car down over the rails and still have the same floor room. Work your seats and pedals around a few cross members for structure...Bob's your uncle.

Or you could set the body on top of the frame rails, and you would really sit low in it, and look THROUGH the windshield, and NOT over it while driving down the road.

The frame will have a 3/8 plate top and bottom. I beleve he is going to be running a belly pan and the body is going to sit on top of the frame.

Yes, that is how I plan to build this car. As a tall guy, it's tough to sit low enough in a short-sided car like a '27.
