I just got a pair of 6" fog lights at a swap meet yesterday. They have one Appleton Lorraine amber Lens, the other is missing. The buckets have some lettering on the rear crown which is hard to make out, but looks like it says: PROV 1937 FL 44 (I'm not sure about the second 4 it's not all there). The lens has the ridges and the reflector is smooth. The buckets were also chromed and peeling on the insides. What were reflectors coated with originally to get that yellowed look? I cannot find any information or photos on them. They also might be a Canadian version. Any help to ID these buckets is appreciated. It looks like it will be hard to find another lens to match. I'll post a wanted in the Classifieds. ZZ
Well,we know they are not King Bees or B-L-C because the both have tags on the top of the housing. HRP
I agree. It's hard to know what they could be without a real tag. They look a lot like Appletons from what I can tell, but without the top ridges and tags. Were there any knock offs made?
