I don't really see a problem, I like em. Maybe the bulbs could be changed out to some simple sealed beams, but nothing really jumps out at me saying it needs changed. Nice truck IMO.

I'm gonna guess your not looking to cut em up and do something different. Personally I like the '56 Oldsmobile headlight treatment, but it would require some metal mods on your truck.

cut the center out of your bezel, and make a blank to go in there that would accept quad headlights.

  5. I'm thinking get some normal fluted headlights and put the clear bulbs in the swap meet box. HRP

You couls keep that same bezels and body work and cut the centers out of them and build a shell out of stainless to tunnel them back into the fender while retaining the chrome bezel. Also '63-'64 Ford car tail light buckets make cool headlight frenching buckets for round headlights,

Really? 53 Buick lights are on everything? I'm sure you can find numerous examples on the internet but I doubt locally you'll find a bunch of custom cars/trucks running around with them. In my opinion I think you should keep them. They look good on the truck and in in many cases it's better not to reinvent the wheel. Maybe you can mould the bezels into the fenders like my Mercury for a different look than you have...

How about 53 olds? super cool setup and very rarely done to a custom.

I like the 53 and 57 Chevy ideas. Thank you I'm going to sketch out some different views.

I don't know maybe I'm just trying to be different on this. Maybe other customizers know this feeling but, I respect everyone's input.

  21. IMHO,it would be hard to improve the headlight treatment,,it's like all modifications we do,,some have been proven and stand the test of time!

It's hard to beat what you have! HRP

So I'm thinking about going to the 54 buick insert and redesign around it. It will have to be tolerable until I find something that pops out at me

If, you did the '54 Buick bezels like the drawing you'll have a very cool looking headlight treatment. Go, for it.....................:D
