I look forward to your daily contributions to this thread
Thanks for the link - I particularly liked the 'Baby'
Interesting front suspension described as "quirky feature is the single transverse leaf spring front suspension". I cant get my head around how that would be comfortable without an apposing coil spring.

    WOAH!

That looks to be a sliding-pillar arrangement of sorts, where the transverse 'beam' is fixed, the spindles slide up and down with the king-pins and are sprung - on the bottom by the coils and on the top by the leaf?

I wonder if the coils' main function isn't basically as a progressive bumpstop, similar to the inner springs in the '30s Chevy Dubonnet pods I'm playing with.

I didn't pick that up but yes it appears the beam is fixed and the spindles move up and down on the king pins. But I still cant see a comfortable ride on the upward no downward stroke.

Yeah, it looks like in that picture the suspension is 'topped out' and there's no rebound travel left.

Maybe the car and springing are light enough that when you put people in the car it moves down to the middle of its travel. Or maybe the designer just didn't think quite that far ahead...it wouldn't have been the weirdest thing done back then.

The personification of my concept of just what a "cyclecar" should look like... What, no belt drive...?

Neat video. Love those cars. Definitely uses most of the road to corner. Probably my imagination but either camera guy was bouncing more at the end of the race or the rear shocks had become softer.

The last real official races on this track were in 2004, I remember in the 90's there were parts of the oval closed down, since it was built in 1924 the track never got any real work done on the oval part. They were talking about scraping it because of the cost of the repairs, there is an asso who's fighting to save that historical french track (it's actually the only oval in France). It's in bad shape...
