Thanks for the photo. I hope you enjoy the car and drive the wheels off it. I love sedans with history.

the roof is wood and fiber glass with a cord from a house light to fill the void no welding or cutting at all just pop it out and put the soft top back in it

  5. I thought you would have it running and driving by now.. LOL

The early work done on the car is good , like the chop and some of the frame stuff.
I would say it was done buy a very young Stan Betz and some of the work was done later like the top fill and the cowl, fill not so good. The good thing is what was done is easy to fix thank god they didn't have a wire feed welder!

Marvin I think you sould start your own thead. It would be fun to watch, some of the old guys were good craftmen and some were not ,the same thing as today.

I remember that pic from the old Street Rodder mag. It was described as being long on motor and short on looks, (I think) and also mentioned the latest thing - 39 juice binders.

(Or something like that - this is genuinely from a distant memory).

    Mart.

Edit - I went back and checked I got it pretty well right - isn't it funny how well the memory can work.

What a great car to be fixing up.

    Street Rodder - October 1975.

(I didn't remember that, I went back and looked at the scanned page earlier in the thread.)

thats cool, makes me feel good to know my old duece beater 'dont need no stinkn paint job'. Those old beaters were built good and raced hard. Bak then you could make a 'sleeper' but it had to be built right, Stan built them right, and fast. I even got the wide 5 brake drums.
