Thanks for the compliments fellas . Its raining cats and dogs here today with strong threats of hail and tornadoes , i figure she has made it in that barn for all these years , a couple more days wont hurt . Chomping at the bit to get it in my driveway and the wash mit on it , just a few more days .

And yes , my oldest son "12" has always got his eye out for old iron . Chip off the old block so to speak. He is always building model cars and flipping through the classified rags to see whats in the neighborhood. My other son "5" thinks they are all HOTRODS!! and need to go fast ha ha.

Your wearing a Wash Mit. Way too much info!!! I have a '50 Buick Sedanette. There is nothing like a sraight 8 out of the gate especially a STICK.

Found it! Sorry for kinda hi-jacking but your car is awesome and this might be some inspiration, depending on what you're going to do down the road.

If it is as clean as the one Mac found, you should bounce a brick off the side of his head

Congrats! I remember that body style of Buick from when I was a kid of just 6 yrs, my uncle bought a new one, Sedanette 2 door fast back. It was metallic green. 1949 was a big change for new styling for all American cars.

Well , after waking up to 60+ temps yesterday and flood rains i decided to wait till today to go rescue the Buick . Lovely illinois weather , woke thismorning to 30's , wind and spitting snow.

Called a budy who owns a towing service and he said " get her out of the Barn and ill be right there to load it . It was bitter cold so i didnt snap a whole bunch of pics . My dad took a few " im the fella in the black sweatshirt" .

The only problems the car has is the back driver side fender has a small bubble in where the original owner bumped his garage door " i think it will push right out , and he rubbed the stainless on the other side as well. No biggie .

The trunk area is really nice , the spare in the car is a match , even has a spare beauty ring and the wheel is pin striped " was that original ?"

Next stop is going to be oriellys for a hot 6 volt battery , complete brake and fuel system will be a must of course along with tires etc but this old sled is rock solid . My buddy driving the roll back owns a boddy shop and said " you hit this thing with a buffer and it will amaze you" . Anyways here are the pictures , with the freezing temps , im not going to put the garden hose to it . Will attempt it tomorow with warmer temps in sight . So here are a few pics in my driveway and still dusty and dirty.

Ha Ha Kirby , Ill be honest , my wife asked me the other day " your not planning on selling it are you " and my exact reply was , " No , unless a really sweet Model A came along " She looked at me funny and i said " sureee , and if it just happens to be a coupe you can probably say bye to the buick " .

    Mac,

I have been looking for one of those for a couple of years now. When I hear about them they are either too much money, on the other end of the country or I am too late by only hours or days.

If it hasn't already been said I'll say it...you suck!;)

What a great looking car! I am very happy for you. I can't wait to see the pictures of it after you clean it up. If you think about selling it send me a PM - I'm serious!

You know I was kidding about the part where I said you suck...right?

    Have fun with the Buick.

    Thor

Nice score. My 49 has the Dynaflop in it. My shocks need rebuilding but fun to drive.
