Need Cheap way to convert brakes

    what is the best way to convert drum to disc brakes on a straight axle. Axle is from a econoline(61)

    I used this kit. Everything but the bracket is available off the shelf at your FLAPS. There are some junkyard conversions using AMC parts, I think. Do a search on the Econo yahoo groups.

    The one from tsm and DD bolt onto the inside of the spindle flange. The one in Carnut bolts to the outside. They both use the same caliper. Is the disc the same?

    Go to carnut.com and go to car tech. Has a 61-67 Econoline conversion. Contact Roger Mingus and he wll send you the info and template for the plate.
     
  6. Cheap is not to make the change. What are you trying to gain with the change?
