I have a 1946 ford truck, completely stock. Can I remove a leaf or two from the front and rear to improve the ride and lower it a bit. If so, which spring(s) do I remove?

It's a parallel set up in those trucks correct? You can remove leafs, no two that sit together you want to go every other to do what your talking about but I'm not sure if you'd want to start at the long end or short end of the pack pulling leaves. Give it a minute and I'm sure some one will chime in

  5. I've heard guys removing up to 3 in a passenger car, so 3-4 in a truck would be fine. Also take the main leaf from the front and rear to a spring shop and have them reverse the eyes. That'll lower it another inch.

Will this affect the steering linkage in any way?

Keep mainleaf and number 2, remove 3 5 7 staring with the shortest one.
You may have to do this several times to get what you want and get both sides even.

I went from 11 leaves to 7 or 8 in front on my '41 Ford Fordor. also a reversed eye main leaf. I experimented for years and finally settled on removing every other leaf with stock shocks.
Watch the steering geometry as you lower it. Try to keep the drag link parallel to the ground to lessen bump steer.
