Thanks George, you definitely put some time into your site. Great choice of photos and very well written. I've been wondering was does the designation AA/S stand for?
Coming from Royal Oak, Michigan myself, I can soooo appreciate these photos and stories. I LIVED and LOVED those cars.
wonderful! I JUST purchased "Hang 'em High". It was in the same stable as the "Firebrewed" car. "Firebrewed" needs a complete restoration if somebody has the $$$$ and ambition. "Faded Memories" has been campaigned in NSS since the late 80's. Dave Campbell built and raced it until I purchased it four years ago. A wonderful car that is very reliable.
The first picture of a 63 ford lightweight galaxie on your site looks like a clipping from Mid Eastern Drag News and has the AA/S designation in the caption. This might be a specific designation that was only used at that particular track, it has me curious though.
Hey George, your site is making the rounds on e-mail now...I just posted a link to it...Great stuff, thanx for posting... I worked for the ad agency that handled Continental Divide Raceway's advertising back in 1967...had a great time at that track.... R-
