am interested in a 59 pontiac posi center section!!!!!! needs to be a 29 spline unit! any leads would be appreciated! would settle for a 29 spline spool but i dont think anyone makes them!
That's an extremely rare Positraction unit you're looking for. 57 and 58 ONLY had 29 spline axles, the 29 spline Positraction was only available in 58. 59 went to 31 spline axles until 64. The axles on 59-64 are 1 inch longer than 57-58. Most guys go with a 31 spline axle setup in a 57-58 housing and shorten the axles 1 inch. There was a 29 spline Positraction here on the HAMB classifieds some time back, but it seems it was for a lot of $$$. Good luck in your search, been there already, and went with the 31 spline setup. I'd just like to add that your comment on 59-64 axles being longer, .etc. is incorrect. 1961 and 62 axles are narrower than 59-60 & 63-4. Steve

I'll be watching this one closely.I have a 4.56 posi in my 57 Safari and was considering selling it but don't really know what it is worth.Also Richmond gears.
