Saturday update once again. I went down to Portland swap meet with my fellow Kingsmen, we had a super fun weekend and all came back with no money and loads of parts. I picked up a very nice set of original Cal Custom valve covers, a 90 degree MC assembly and a mint front bumper.

Got busy and almost completed the drivers side head light. Need to go back and hammer out some bits but other than that I am ready to get the passenger side knocked out hopefully next weekend.

If any of you are curious as to what I am doing with the factory body line, it is getting covered up with stainless trim so you will not see it that is why it now terminates where it does and not near the bezel.

Today ended up being a really busy day for me. Went out and checked out the BC Hotrod Show in the morning. Gene Winfield was chopping a 46 Chevy coupe and got to watch and chat with him for a little bit. Felt privileged to meet the legend in person finally.

Ended up attacking the other bezel later on this afternoon. This side was a lot easier as I have previously laid out the cuts and had all the measurements recorded to copy the first side. Ran outta day light and energy and didnt get the passenger side completely finished. Still need to build the small inner panel and weld up everything.

Car is looking great. with the body line on the fender, make sure the clips for the trim you are using are going to work with the raise in the fender.

    Thanks! I love it too!

I am improving, not sure if I would call myself a magician tho

    Thanks

I am interested to see how long it looks once I put the splash pan and front bumper on, its been so long since I had it on there.

    Thanks guys!

I will be installing all the trim before I start any body work to make sure it all works. 55 chevy's had fender body lines as well so the clips should work just fine on mine. If not I will modify.

Eric, must have missed an earlier post of mine, I am running stainless trim over the body line so they wont be seen.

Finished up my head light conversion today. Yesterday I formed the last little piece to fit the inside of the bezel to the fender and then welded everything up. Today I got to mounting the buckets and getting them all lined up.

Here is the drivers side bucket mounted and the passenger side complete.

So happy with how they flow with the car now. Next up is finishing the grille bar and getting all the teeth mounted. Then installing splash pan and bumper. Stay tuned.

I subscribed to this thread awhile back and have been watching all your work. The car looks great and you should be very proud of the work. There's a 54 in our shop waiting for some attention when the time is right, it's hard not to start playin with it when I see what you got going. Nice work, keep it up that's one beautiful car.
