I have looked far and white and cannot find a good example of someone running a WWW on a white rim. does anyone have a pic or have this set up? thanks
As soon as I get done with important stuff like re doing the brakes and putting in new floor pans I will be painting these wheels red and putting on the '59 lancer caps. I don't like the white wheels. Scott
Something about 'white-on-white'... Just reminds me of little girls with white sox and shoes. Not very convincing on a car. Cars look better in nylons & heels...
In my album...my '34 Chevy currently has white on white. Not planned...just as I bought 'em...but it's starting to grow on me.
I did it, but white walls aren't really white, and look dingy with a bright white wheel. I repainted them to a different color.
white wheels and wide white walls, you might as well put on 22" rims and thin press on fork lift tires , has about the same look , just my .02 cents lol , need a hub cap and or beauty ring to break it up ,
Todd runs them on his caddy. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=726063&highlight=necessary+evil
In my opinion, it makes the wheels look huge and the tires look like rubber bands if the wheels are as white as the tires. If the wheels is just a shade or two off, it looks really cool.
I will be running cream powder coated rims on my '52 cadillac, but I will also be using the 52 hub caps and just don't want the ring of color between the hubcap and tire
Guess it is not for everyone but I like it. Crappy cell phone pic. Wheels are Colonial White 57 Ford. Tires are Diamond back.
Having a dark blue body color, I have been thinking about using a contrasting color rim, some color other than red. I looked at wide whites and thought about putting them on a light yellow or white rims, but that did not look right to me. I do like the bright yellow or orange with black walls. I had to use a color wheel to find a color that was "right" to me. Different strokes for different folks.
Here are 2 pics of my '49...one with white rims, one with chrome rims, for comparison sake. I really like the chrome, but if I had to go back to painted wheels, Id go with orange before I would go back to white.
did you see the Cadillac from post 11? I think even you have to admit its a good example of a white on white that looks killer.
Couple more ideas. Maybe you don't have to go all the way white. Just a light color like these. Light Yellow... Light Green....
This is the set up I have. The tire will be a 6.50x16 bias I want to match the colors, maybe go green on the bowtie. so the question, what do ya'll think about it? WWW with chrome BLACKWALL smaller white wall with rubber ring between white wall and rim WWW with green trim ring WWW on white rim with white cap. the green would match this color
