Just dropped the roadster off and making a dash board before the weekend. Come see my car leak trans fluid all over the nice new floor at the grand opening this weekend!

Great idea, I wish there was something like this here.
I would get my 99 bucks worth every month

This sounds awesome. Raleigh is a little far to check it out, but I could see joining if it were local enough. I like the idea of classes too.

I'm interested in hearing more about these local Detroit shops especially given the year or so that's past sicne this thread first started.

To those who have been using them with paid memberships, was it worth the $100/mo? Are you able to store projects onsite? How secure are your items that you leave behind (tools, parts, project car, etc?)

If you need to learn a skill, how helpful are they in assisting you in using a piece of equipment or learning a new technique?

I have thought about this for a long time,my inspiration is the auto hobby shop at Williams AFB.I can see that it would be difficult to operate one in a small town. I could see one working in a larger town with lots of auto enthusiasts.100 dollars is not outrageous if not tied to a contract. It might even create some jobs if it was well utilised. My 2cents worth.:D
