I'm not a fan om flat black paint, it often gets boring and looks pretty.. flat and unfinished. However, your truck is moving towards greatness because you've kept the chrome trim! look at the parts on the hood, the handles you didn't shave and I think I see a nice chrome bumper in the back. Awesome work. Maybe you should try to get something for the rear windows to?

Nice color, is that Washington blue? Do you have any details on the paint brand & part #?

Also, what color white is on the firewall?

I've posted in this thread last year when I first got my 61 GMC, so here it is again after almost a year's work and at the Viva Las Vegas 16 Car Show.

Maybe a bit new at only 42 yrs old, but it is built old school!

Grandfather bought new in 71, I have driven it since 1984, with a 14 yr sleep when I first joined the USAF. Two pics below are this year. 445 stroker FE, heavily ported iron heads and worked RPM intake with a 750 Holley, flat tappet, Duraspark, 4 speed, dual 3 inch exhaust

an earlier one, before the this (third) reincarnation :) Probably 2 years ago? 390 powered. Note the scoop, I really miss it, but it needed a hood and I couldn't get myself to cut good sheet metal for a fake scoop on this recent resto and the bracing didn't lend itself to a functional one.

an even earlier pic after it's first freshen-up and pre short bed. This is no later than 1989. Probably still 360 powered here, I think this was 428PI intake, headers, 212/214 cheapo cam, and a 600 Holley. Ran well for what it was

Even earlier when a crazy 20 yr old thought hockey puck body lifts and mudders were cool, this was a couple years before the painted pic above. 360 powered with a Holley 500 2 barrel, headers and glasspacks. Most importantly this was pre power steering, had big arms back then!

  30. Thanks.

    I've always liked '48-'50 F-1s. Sold a nice project '48 a few years ago, should've kept it.
