Hot Rods I knew Speedway sold some Chinese crap but this is ridiculous...

So I order some manifolds from good ole Speedway. And I know we all joke that they sell Chinese crap but good god, they should try to at least act like they don't !
The box says "Made in the USA" but the newspaper that it's packed in is actual Chinese newspapers ! At least repack the shit before you send it to a customer !

Normally I kinda roll my eyes at the anti-chinese rants on here, but THAT is FUNNY!

 

But then commrade bill would have to buy packing material which would cut into the profits. He is being green by recycling haha

Would you feel better if they recycled the china paper and re wrapped crappy parts in USA paper and then charged you more for the efforts at USA wages and news paper?
The job description for this position is a "manufacturing" subsidiary and when 10 people are hired to rewrap china parts in usa news paper some politician can claim manufacturing growth. Hell they may even sell a few more papers too.

That is why WallyWorld got in trouble many years ago with there BS "Made in the USA" marketing lies - they got caught re-wrapping all their Chinese crap in packaging marked "Made in the USA" at the Port of Long Beach, California. Remember their ad campaign that touted "American jobs" and products "made in the USA"...well, they got caught red-handed, so to speak. That little campaign went away quickly and quietly.

It turns my stomach seeing sooooo many people ordering their China parts to rebuild their "original steel" hot rods. Speedway isn't the only company out there doing this, but that is a sad reminder to see the actual Chinese newspaper in there. People shake their head at me & tell me I should just order new parts instead of finding & repairing original rusted factory parts. No thanks, I'll keep building my cars out of as muny original factory steel parts as possible!
