Just messin' with ya. In all seriousness, I don't know why these threads even exist. If you want to chop it, chop it. If you don't, don't. Why is the OP looking for everyone's approval? There will always be opinions on both sides, but this is a traditional hot rod site...
Chop it. No such thing as "too nice to chop". . . would you rather chop a sh*tty body, and try to weld rusty metal, while patching half the car? I know I wouldn't, I'd rather start with something nice. But that's just me. I say do what you think looks good, not what people say looks "different".
<HR style="COLOR: #e5e5e5; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #e5e5e5" SIZE=1> <!-- / icon and title --><!-- message --> To me, this look is sexy as hell . . . <!-- / message --><!-- attachments --><FIELDSET class=fieldset><LEGEND>Attached Thumbnails</LEGEND> </FIELDSET> That's the one. It's chopped now, it looks bitchen but I prefer it like this.
Yeah, it's chopped now. I think it looks great both ways. But this shot is just a really good example of unchopped and beautiful, I think.
Put 3 inches of Masking tape across the top of the windshield. Leave it there, while driving for a couple of days, See how you like it then. Lot easier to pull the tape than put three inches back in the top. Just a suggestion. It is your car, do what you like.
Do as you would do if it was post ww2 and you want to have a bitchin ride...if that means chop it...then do as your inner hot rodder says to do
There's so much you can do first w/o cutting up the body and this is a beauty of an example.....Build it, drive it and if you still feel the need...then cut away with a smile OK, picture didn't follow "joeyesmen" quote to my post, but it's a beauty!
Dont chop it. I was going to chop mine but a lot of people said dont and I am really glad I listened to them.
Now that's a smart man. That will definitely tell you if you want it short. I wouldn't chop that one.
Then.....you change the seat to a lower profile seat, push it back into the package tray and BAM, problem solved
If that were mine id make it sit like this and see if i like it .... then chop if need be. Defenetly id keep the fenders ... they look great w fenders
For me that car looks bad ass! I would go no chop with fenders. If you take off the fenders then I would chop it! All that being said If you can't fit in a chopped car don't cut it!
As with the majority, mechanically hot rod first. Any other "streamlining" you can do later when you KNOW what you want. Hotrods were made to go faster w/mechanical, hotter mods or reducing weight and resistance, etc., we're not restorers. Too nice to cut up? Funny, what do you want it to look like?
Your confused. Losing sleep. Sooo many ideas, decisions... I know! Get your life back by selling it to me
Na ga da....wouldnt be prudent. Don't know if you said you're thinking fenderless or if there's a North Border Style up where your at but my opinion, (insert Ye Ole "assume phrase" here), do it East Coast style or like the other sweet fendered pic I included... either one looks bitchen to me. I'm tall so it played a role in my decision but I also did my deuce unchopped and channeled in case I ever want to put her back on the rails, whole lot easier than putting the meat back in the sandwich. Gotta join the ranks though amazingly procured material you got my friend!
thanks for all the replys guys.still can't make my mind up what to do.if i keep the fenders i won't chop it.if i take the fenders off it will have to be chopped!
