New project is a 1939 chevy pick up, 216 motor with a "dead" 4-speed trans and a closed drive shaft dilemma. Seams as though no one can re-build the 4-speed so i researched getting a t-5 out of a s-10 anyone ever do this swap, any advice would be much appreciated.

I have a 39 that am thinking of putting a modern frame, toyota or s10 under it to make it more comfortable, mine is a 3/4 ton, long bed, probably same transmission, if your interested let me know, it runs strong, just very slow and un-predictable, also any suggestions on what chassis works best or thoughts on just doing the IFS, nova rear, 350/350 ?
