That settles it for the color on the 389 going into the '55!

Dammit that's sweet! As odd as it sounds, your dizzy cap helps keep things looking just right since it's black and not red. Love it.

Thanks man. The engine and components were mocked up a lot with all different combos of color, cast, polished, and chrome pieces till the right combo was found. The plug wires are a little bit of a challenge. I know they should go over the valve covers but I hate how it looks. Either way I think there's a lot of sacrificing of plug wire coming....

No doubt gold is a cool color for a hot rod engine. My question is what gold paint is the
    best for long lasting durabiliity?

Here's mine. Not quite finished yet. Gonna dress it up a little with finned valve covers and valley cover.

  12. Maybe not a real "gold" color but it's the original color for the 1950 Ford. A sort of Bronze/Copper/Gold scheme sort of. I really dig how the gold and aluminum speed parts blend together :D

A work in progress. Credit goes to SilentRick here on the HAMB. He's doing a great job on it.

I think ill be painting my 392 gold with black accents. Seems like the right thing to do. Silver could work but eh, boring.
