When we put the mounts for the quarter elliptics on the frames for the modifieds, we started out with 1/4" plate. They twisted, so we went up to 5/16". We also wrapped it over the top of the frame with a web. The springs tend to want to twist the mounts and the frame.
Contrasting colour? Maybe a limey green, like the stock Model A colour combination?
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

deep dark blue body, ivory firewall and subtle body line striping, black wheels with dual ivory pinstripes and stainless beauty rings.

You don't have to have a shop full of tools to turn out cool projects! Looking great!

Way way WAY better than the baby bed headboard that used to be there. Good job!

I love this T. Another un-asked for opinion on color: body and firewall in a dark green you like, engine and accents like wheels and stuff in the stock valve cover seafoam green.
Judging from the work so far whatever you choose will look good.

  10. Dark green (think Model A Brewster Green) would be sick!

I printed out my SW gauge faces on the computer and mocked them up on the panel. Found out 8 was WAY too many for my T. Too overwhelming for the small area. Try it out and see.

Wow! just found this. Really nice. Light blue or pale yellow, similar to Ford Goldenrod. AMBR 1955 , Anderegg was Goldenrod yellow

I've been following your build on FB. Seeing the whole build on here I have to say I really dig it. This is a great build.

  23. Totally missed this thread, as always you are building a NEAT car!

  24. I really dig your steering wheel choice. Great build going on here.

    Awesome build man. Subscribed!!

Quick (maybe stupid:eek:) question on the 1/4 elliptic springs, love the look but not real familiar with how they work. Are you going to have to run some kind of panhard bar on the front? I'm having trouble seeing how side to side movement is limited...<O:p</O:p

  30. I'm sad you ditched the cowl steering but I understand. I drove a sprint car once with a Schroeder box and it was tight! This setup looks cool too and I dig the pitman arm to the sky.
