Saying you don't like red steelies??.......Is like saying you don't like hot women....Gezz!...Some guys would still kick, If you hung them with a new rope...LOL My opinion is red steelies can look good without rings and caps, But in order for black steelies to look good they need to be dressed out with rings and caps, Or atleast the stripes. But I think alot of guys say they do not like something because they get tired of seeing the same thing all the time. Everyone bitches and makes fun of the hot pink flames and easter egg paint jobs from the 80's on hot rods/ street rods (whatever you want to call them) but now everyone has flat black paint with red wheels and whitewalls. It does get a little old sometimes. basicly it seems like everyone is trying to build the same car...LOL And it crackes me up when someone post a thread on here about how they should build their car? or what color should they paint their car? or what wheels should they use. They are afraid to do what they want to their own car, for fear of not fitting into someones club. below is a pic of my buddy "john Swander" 32 five window, I think red wheels look pretty damn good!...Just my 2 cents......ofcourse he has changed it quite a bit since the first pic was taken, It now looks like the second pic
I agree with this, And I forget sometimes what year it is, and the fact that cars like what is pictured below are now considered hot rods by many. But looking at it from what I consider the prime years of hotrodding, the car pictured below would be considered someones grandmothers car that had the hubcaps stolen. And I mean no disrespect to the owner of this car, As I also like the way it looks. But hotrodders stripped down cars and Drilled holes to lose weight to gain as much speed as possible. The car below is a tank!..LOL
Black Steelies look like what a spare tire would come on to me. I would like to see them with some nice thick white walls, I think that'd look slick...
I agree with you about the grandma car, but a nice black paint job adds a sinister look (anti-grandma). You need to also keep it clean to pull it off. The big 2 door cars are also less senior citizen.
Black steelies work just fine on my car till I get around to ordering the moon disks. (But I peeled that damn sticker off as soon as I could)
You gotta love black steelies! Oh and mine are...GASP...smoothies painted black...Shield your eyes from the horror!
